Keep the middle usable, drop cysts at the edge, pair opposite Crosswind knockbacks, and save major damage for Dig In during Howling Maelstrom.
Boss mechanics
Tank swap
Swap when the next tank’s Corroding Venom has fully expired—after the assigned frontal combo, never mid-combo.
DO THIS: Swap exactly on this trigger and call it early.PULL
Anchor Sszorak near centre and face every frontal away from the raid. Leave a full movement lane on the upwind side.
RAID
Form two loose groups behind the boss. This controls puddle baits and keeps partners visible for Crosswinds.
CYSTS
Drop Venomous Surge at the perimeter, working clockwise. Never cut through the centre with a cyst.
CROSSWINDS
Opposite-direction partners stand shoulder-to-shoulder with their backs aligned so the two knockbacks collide. Pre-position upwind before Maelstrom.
Role assignments
Tanks
- Face Ravage and Mutilate away; coordinate any required split frontal.
- Corroding Venom stacks from melee hits. Taunt only after your debuff has fallen.
- Anchor centrally without pointing the boss through cyst or Crosswind groups.
Healers
- Cover constant Ula’tek’s Presence damage.
- Use raid cooldowns for Raging Crosswinds and Howling Maelstrom.
- Watch players displaced toward the platform edge or a cyst.
Damage dealers
- Spread before Venomous Surge expires and keep every cyst out of the center.
- Pair Crosswinds precisely—do not overlap a second player’s explosion.
- Hold major offensive cooldowns for Dig In rather than using everything on pull.
Pull flow
- 01
SURGE
Spread Venomous Surge, then place the resulting Viscous Cysts at the perimeter.
- 02
CROSSWINDS
Read the knock direction. Assigned opposite directions stand shoulder-to-shoulder so their knockbacks collide and clear.
- 03
MAELSTROM
Move against the push and use the Dig In vulnerability as the main burn window.
Difficulty changes
Surge adds floor pressure, and tank-frontal vulnerabilities make assignments stricter. Verify the live journal for the current Mutilate split pattern.
